The ideas that I uncovered in the STS Honors Program will help generally frame my outlook on the world and help me shape my personal and professional philosophies as I go. Writing an honors thesis was an exceptional opportunity to connect all the topics I had learn in class, and apply them into a year-long interdisciplinary research project, which is very closely related to technology entrepreneurship in consumer electronics. It was a way to develop skills and apply them in a very customized field of my choosing.

Through conversations with my advisor and people in the STS Honors Program, I shifted my thesis to a more nuanced puzzle: we have so much neuroscience research that shows young adults are still developing, so why is 18 still the hard-line boundary for criminal responsibility? Why has the science not merged with the law?
